Where do the lessons take place ?

Classes take place at my home in the beautiful seaside town : Antibes. I can also come to your house if it is in the Antibes area. There is also the possibility of doing remote lessons via skype or other platforms.

What do we do in class ?

Classes are personalised and tailored to each individual. Their content therefore varies. However, here is a description of a typical lesson at French in Antibes:

We often start lessons with an informal conversation in French: ‘comment ça va?, tu fais quoi aujourd’hui… From this conversation a few rules, pronunciation tips, new vocabulary words etc. emerge.

Then we look at a specific grammar topic and do some exercises.

Finally, we focus on a subject: video, text, current affairs, dialogue… There are lots of subjects and possibilities.

Is it possible to take lessons as an absolute beginner ?

Of course, with absolute beginners we will spend much time learning basic vocabulary and grammar using various methods based on images.

We will also use very simple conversations and dialogues to help the learning come to life.

We will also discuss how best to learn in order to make fast progress.

How much do lessons cost ?

Accepted Answer

Lessons at my place cost €30 for one hour.

If I travel to the centre of Antibes, 35 €/hour.

For more extensive travel (Carrefour area, Sophia Antipolis, Villeneuve-Loubet…) 40€/hour.

Pair lessons are €20/hour/participant.

For groups of three or more: 15€/person/hour.

How many lessons should I take per week ?

The number of lessons varies according to the level of intensity required:

One hour a week: for progress over time.
Two hours a week: a more intensive programme.
Three hours a week: intensive programme for rapid progress.

How long does a lesson last?

Accepted Answer

Lessons can last one, one and a half or two hours.

For one-to-one tuition, we recommend one hour, which allows you to work well, or one and a half hours for more intensive work.

In groups, we tend to give lessons of an hour and a half or two hours.

What’s the golden rule for making progress in languages?

Listen a lot. It’s essential if you want to make rapid progress. Watch and listen to series, films, documentaries, podcasts and so on.

– Listen to something you like.
– Use subtitles in English.

This will help you get used to and enjoy the sound and rythm of French. It will also help fix grammar and vocabulary you may be learning at the moment.
