• Il faisait beau, les oiseaux chantaient, des enfants jouaient.

Passé composé : Describe events

• Un homme m’a dit bonjour, il m’a donné une lettre, il est parti en courant.

Put the two together

When a verb is in imparfait (context), stuff can take place at the same time in passé composé (events)

• Je mangeais (context) quand ma mère a appelé (event).
• Hier je prenais une douche (context) quand la bombe a explosé. (event)
• Mercredi tu nageais dans la mer (context) quand un requin t’a attaqué (event)

A nice way to symbolise is like this

• J’étais dans un parc : « _________________________ » (imparfait : context)

• un homme est arrivé, il m’a parlé, il est parti. : « x x x » (passé composé : events)

Put the two together:

• J’étais dans un parc, un homme est arrivé, il m’a parlé, il est parti :
• ____x___x____x______
